Brian Johnson
About
Attending the College of Charleston on a full athletic scholarship, Brian received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Charleston in 1994. Upon graduation, Brian worked as a financial advisor with John Hancock Financial Services in Mt. Pleasant. In 1997, Brian started law school and in 2000, received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. After graduation, Brian was appointed as an Assistant Attorney General by South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon. During this time, Brian prosecuted a wide range of criminal charges including murder, drug trafficking, drug possession, gun charges, elder abuse, criminal domestic violence, driving under the influence and environmental issues. He served on the Criminal Domestic Task Force as well. A native of Charleston, Brian returned home in 2002, working with both Finkel & Altman and the Clekis Law Firm.
In 2006, Brian and longtime friend, Ryan Bluestein, formed Bluestein & Johnson, LLC. Brian focuses his practice primarily on Worker's Compensation, Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and Domestic. Brian has successfully handled and tried various workers compensation cases including permanent and total cases. He has tried numerous personal injury cases, prevailing and receiving great results for his injured clients. Brian's experience as a prosecutor has helped him reach successful resolutions for his criminal clients, from negotiating a plea all the way to trying the case in the courtroom. Brian has effectively dealt with a wide range of domestic cases including divorces, child custody issues, termination of parental rights and adoption cases.
Active in the Charleston community, he attends many events and is a member of Providence Baptist Church. He serves as an adjunct professor at Southern Wesleyan University and teaches various legal classes. He is a member of the Charleston County Bar and the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association.
